International Education & Study Abroad

International Education initiatives at Volunteer State seek to provide students with opportunities that transcend the traditional classroom experience. These opportunities will provide students with a global perspective and a new way of understanding the world and their place in it. Guest speakers from around the world share experiences that provide insight about the cultures, histories, and societies from which they come. Through our partnership with the Tennessee Board of Regents Global Studies office, students can participate in study abroad programs and earn academic credit toward their degrees in twenty countries around the world. Courses in all programs are for college credit, and scholarships to help with program costs are available for those who qualify.

Guidelines for International Education

Study abroad programs provide life-changing academic experiences. Every program enables students to immerse themselves in another culture while visiting sites of cultural and historical importance that connect directly to the course material. Study abroad programs range from 1-3 weeks and take place over spring break and throughout the summer. Some programs include students and faculty from across Tennessee. Others are Ãå±±½ûµØ faculty-led programs with only Ãå±±½ûµØ students. Information for each year’s Global Studies programs typically becomes available early in the Fall semester and .
